Information

Gillespie County is now accepting applications for 2025 Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds. These funds support qualified events, projects, and programs that promote tourism and increase overnight visitor stays in Gillespie County. The HOT is collected from visitors staying in lodging within the unincorporated areas of the County.

Texas law restricts HOT fund use to specific tourism-related purposes, and HOT funds must be used to promote tourism and the hotel and lodging industry in Gillespie County.

Starting February 6, 2025, application packets will be available at the Office of the County Judge and online at www.gillespiecounty.org. Applications may be submitted online or by delivery to the Office of the County Judge (located at the Gillespie County Courthouse, 101 W. Main St., Mail Unit #9, Room 101, Fredericksburg, Texas).

Applicants must submit completed applications and any supporting documents by 5:00 p.m. on March 6, 2025. Late, incomplete, or amended applications may be rejected.

The Commissioners’ Court will hold a public workshop meeting in mid-March to review applications and discuss the award of HOT funds.

For more information, contact the County Judge’s Office at 830-997-7502.

Thank you for your interest in promoting tourism in Gillespie County!
