Notice of Paving County Roads in Precinct #4 – September 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, & 15th.
Gillespie County Precinct #4 is planning to pave certain County roads during the week of September 11th thru 15th (weather permitting). The roads being paved are: Reeh Rd (Section 1 – 3300), Memory Ln, Cherry Oak St, Catholic Cemetery Rd, Metzger Rd, Cherry Hollow Dr, Achtzehn Rd, Wallendorf-Bohnert Rd, and Treibs Rd.
The paving will be a chipseal process that will include the steps of sweeping the road, spraying down liquid asphalt, laying down a layer of gravel, packing the gravel, and eventually conducting a light sweep of the new layer. The full curing of the asphalt usually takes 24 to 48 hours and we ask that you travel at reduced speeds and attempt to avoid sharp breaking on the roads for a short time period after the chipseal is laid down.
Please make sure you have no vehicles parked on the streets/roads during the paving process. You should expect some delays and temporary closures while the paving process is taking place. Please also be respectful and courteous to the County employees performing the work to ensure their safety.
