1. County Clerk's office is open to the public from the hours of 8:00 am
to 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Only 2 customers at a time will be
allowed in the main office area.  

2. Criminal payment options: 1. Online by credit card at website; 2.
Mail cashier checks or money order payments to: Gillespie County
Clerk; 101 W. Main St, Mail Unit #13, Fredericksburg, TX 78624; 3. In
person at County Clerk's Office-Courthouse, Room 109. 

3. MARRIAGE LICENSES—Please call our office and set up an
appointment at 830/997-6515. We will only issue licenses from 9:00
to 3:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9:00 to 12:00 noon on
Fridays (No Holidays or weekends). 

4. Only 1 customer at a time will be allowed in the vault (research area)
for a 30 minute time period. 

5. RECORDING OF LAND RECORDS-In person or by mail. 

 

This is in effort to keep everyone safe and at the 6' limit in-person contact. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this time together.

The County Clerk serves as the official record keeper for the official Public Records involving real property, records all documents for County Court, Commissioners Court, and the County Probate Court.

Please be advised that Gillespie County is a Constitutional County Court. 

The Gillespie County Clerk main office is open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.


BRAND REGISTRATION

Brand Registrations began the process of renewals on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

You had until Monday, February 28, 2022 to renew your registration. 

On March 1, 2022, all brands that have not been renewed will become “VOID” and will be open for registration to any person desiring to record the brand in their name.

The recording fee will be $26.00 per brand and/or ear mark per application, being one brand location per application.

Registration will be in the Gillespie County Clerk’s Office at 101 W. Main St - Courthouse in Room 109 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. 

If you wish to apply by mail you will need to print out our application under the County Clerk tab on our website: www.gillespiecounty.org.  Applications by mail shall be notarized before mailing to Clerk’s address.

Supreme Court Ruling:  
E-filing will be mandatory in civil cases in the district courts, statutory county courts, constitutional county courts and statutory probate courts according to the following implementation schedule based upon the counties’ 2010 Federal Census population; therefore, Courts in Gillespie County (with a population of 20,000 to 49,999) must begin using E-File on January 1, 2016.
