POSITION: Deputy Sheriff (full time)

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff with a salary range of $13.38 to $16.17 per hour. Salary commensurate to experience and qualifications. 

Essential job function requires a high level of physical ability to include: vision, hearing, speaking, flexibility and strength. Must be willing to work shifts, including over-nights, weekends and holidays.

High School diploma or GED and must be a TCLEOSE licensed Peace Officer. Experience is preferred.

Extensive background investigation, physical examination, psychological evaluation, polygraph test and entrance exam required.

Uniforms provided and standard county benefit package including vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, insurance program and retirement plan.
