Description Office of County Clerk
You can order Texas birth
and death certificates or verifications, as well as
marriage and divorce verifications online, directly from
the State of Texas by going to Texas Online at
http://www.texasonline.com/tolapp/ovra/index.jsp .
Online Birth Certificates are only
available to the individual for whom the Birth Certificate
was issued and/or the mother or father of that person or a
qualified applicant for births registered in the state
over the past 75 years.
Online Death Certificates
are only available to the surviving spouse, a parent of
the deceased and to certain funeral directors or qualified
applicant for deaths registered in the state for the past
25 years. Others seeking to obtain Texas birth and death
certificates or verifications, as well as marriage and
divorce verifications by mail, regardless of the date are
available by a mailed in request from Texas Vital
Statistics. Mail in forms are available at
http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/vs/default.shtm .
